County Vignette (U category) - When to Use It

If your route only uses motorways within a single Hungarian county (e.g. only the M3 within Heves County), the monthly county vignette at HUF 3,045 (~€8) is significantly cheaper than the national monthly at HUF 7,135. This is useful for residents commuting on a short motorway section. For cross-country or transit trips, the national vignette is required.

HU-GO: Hungary Truck Toll System (Vehicles Over 3.5t)

Trucks, buses, and other vehicles over 3.5t use the HU-GO electronic distance-based toll system, not the e-Matrica. Rates depend on the number of axles, vehicle emission class (Euro standard), and distance travelled.

HU-GO requires an OBU (on-board unit) fitted to the vehicle or pre-declaration via the HU-GO website/app. The OBU communicates with overhead gantries on motorways and selected national roads (sections of road 1, 4, 6, etc.).
