Only Fetești–Cernavodă sits on Autostrada Soarelui (A2) between Bucharest and Constanța. Giurgiu–Ruse is on DN5 / E85 / E70 while Giurgeni–Vadu Oii is on DN2A / E60. Approximate rates for passenger cars (Category B):

TollRo: Distance-Based Truck Toll (Operational Since October 1, 2026)

TollRo is a distance-based charge for heavy freight vehicles, separate from the time-based rovinieta. It is administered by CNAIR through its electronic road charging system (STRR).

Rates follow two rules: EURO V-IV vehicles pay about 15% more than EURO VI, EURO III-0 vehicles pay about 30% more, and national roads are charged at roughly half the motorway and expressway rate. Example: a vehicle of 12t or more driving 1,000 km entirely on motorways pays 480 RON (EURO VI) or 620 RON (EURO III-0).

Route Ticket (Tichet de Ruta)

A route ticket is valid for one passage along the declared route and expires 72 hours after the start date and time you declare. It must be paid before the trip, no earlier than 72 hours ahead of the declared start. After 72 hours it is void, even if the route was not fully driven.

Can I pay TollRo with the mobile app?

Yes. The free CNAIR TollRO app (iOS and Android) tracks distance on the network by GPS and charges against a balance you load. Start it before entering the network, declare the vehicle correctly, and keep GPS, mobile data and sufficient balance active for the whole trip.
