Network Expansion — Mbour–Fatick–Kaolack:

• The Mbour–Thiadiaye section opened to traffic on 29 April 2026, extending the A1 south of Mbour

Can motorcycles use Senegal's toll motorways?

Yes. Unlike many toll expressways in Asia and elsewhere, the Autoroute de l'Avenir has a dedicated "Moto" tariff class with the lowest rates on the network — from 100 FCFA at the Keur Massar and Rufisque slip roads up to 600 FCFA at the Thiaroye toll plaza. Motorcyclists should still confirm access rules for individual sections before travelling.

How much is the toll from Dakar to the airport?

The Dakar–AIBD (Blaise Diagne International Airport) run costs 2,000 FCFA for a light vehicle. This rate was reduced from 3,000 FCFA in December 2018 following a government decision. Heavier vehicle categories pay more.

How do I get a Rapido badge?

Rapido stickers are available free of charge at customer service points along the Autoroute de l'Avenir, including the Dalifort service area and the Toglou and Thiaroye toll stations. Once fitted to your windscreen, load a balance through the Sunu Autoroute app, a mobile money partner such as Wave or Orange Money, or a partner bank. The badge is bonded to the vehicle and is destroyed if removed.

What happens if my Rapido balance is too low at the barrier?
