Yes, on three separate stretches - not just one. The A1 "Rruga e Kombit" charges at the Kalimash tunnel toll gate near the Kosovo border, and separately at the Thumanë-Kashar spur near Tirana International Airport. Since late 2025, the new Llogara Tunnel on the SH8 coastal road also charges a toll. All other Albanian roads remain free.
2026 Update: Thumanë-Kashar has been tolled since 4 January 2025, and the Llogara Tunnel toll took effect following its October 2025 gazette approval. Both are now fully operational and should not be described as "planned."

Exempt from the Llogara toll: police, ambulance, fire brigade, military/NATO vehicles, disabled drivers (personal-use vehicles), and road-authority staff on duty. Vehicles transporting hazardous materials are barred from the tunnel entirely, not just charged extra. Subscription rates for regular users are due to be set six months after the toll's entry into force.

- Cash: Lek at all three facilities; Euro banknotes also accepted at Kalimash (manual lanes only).
